The Co-Castling concept is inspired by the cohousing concept that started in Denmark in the 1970s. Cohousing is a type of intentional community where several households get together to buy or build a property including a common house for social activities. The only difference between co-castling and cohousing is that the common house is a castle instead of a regular building.
The advantage of co-castling is that instead of having one household buying and maintaining a castle alone, 21 to 33 households share the costs and the work. This makes it much more affordable and practical for people to live in a castle.
Co-castling is a great option for people who want to live in a castle but don’t want to deal with the hassle and expense of owning one on their own. It’s also a great way to meet new people and build community.
